When I 1st arrived on LeCrue Eyebrows‘ artworks on the streets of my city, I was struck at when by its singular authenticity. Each piece intrigues, as it exudes a unique aura of thriller. Visual meditations on these common themes as appreciate, decline and longing, the functions are subtly strong and strikingly beautiful.
Not to be missed is the Queens-dependent artist’s initially solo exhibition at Van Der Plas Gallery. At after quietly uncooked and soulfully stylish, every function tells a tale – to be freely interpreted by its viewer. And every piece was produced freely and spontaneously, as nothing that Lecrue generates is premeditated. The act of painting, by itself, is to the artist “an rigorous type of meditation.”
The beguiling image pictured over, “Move with Me,” was fashioned this calendar year with acrylic on canvas. Quite a few additional images I captured though going to “Primitive Form” very last weekend follow:
“Own Storm,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022
“Stand With Me,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022
“Her Breath in Time,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022
“Just Outside of the Window,” Acrylic on canvas, 2022
And on a fairly unique notice — “Together,” Combined media on cold push paper, 2022
“Primitive Form” continues at Van Der Plas Gallery as a result of October 23. Situated at 156 Orchard Street, the gallery is open Mon-Tue: 12pm-5pm, Wed-Sat: 11pm-6pm and Sunday: 11am-5pm. A closing reception will get spot on Friday, October 21 from 6-8pm.
