In the park bordering Louvre-Lens, which opened in 2012 on a 49-acre previous mining website about 125 miles north of Paris, a cabin-shaped set up has fluttered on to the grounds. The kinetic structure created by Margate, U.K.-based studio NEON, who explain it as an “animal-like” get the job done that responds to pure forces in its setting, has feather-like polycarbonate shingles that respond to wind or precipitation to generate movement. “Shiver House V2″—edition just one was modeled following a common mökki in Finland—is an exploration into the way that architecture can aid to make a nearer relationship among its inhabitants and its surroundings.
